Apple has officially unveiled iOS 12, the latest version of its operating system for iPhone and iPad.OS new updated vertion launced IOS 12. New OS was announced at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference on June 4, 2018.All devices that supported iOS 11 also support iOS 12.
Apple said that device performance will be up to 70% faster with iOS 12. Enhancements were made to the camera application specifically to make launching it and taking photos a quicker experience.
iOS 12 has been updated to include a feature that allows users to track how much time they are spending on their devices and what they are doing. The system provides reports broken into categories and timeframes.
A dedicated application in iOS 12 allows users to set up shortcuts. Shortcuts are automated actions that the user can ask Siri to perform.
ARKit has been updated to include the ability for users to share their view with other iPhones.
CarPlay now features the ability to run third party navigation applications.
iPads can now use the gestures that are found on the iPhone X. The Voice Memos and Stocks apps are now available for iPads.When pulling up the dock whilst in an app, this gesture is now used to return to the home screen; this may cause annoyance. Control Center is now separated from the app switcher on iPad.
Messages in iOS 12 introduces a new type of Animoji called “Memoji” which allows a user to create a 3D character of themselves. Apple also introduced Koala, Tiger, Ghost and T-Rex Animoji.
FaceTime has been updated to support up to 32 people per FaceTime call. FaceTime also gains support for Animoji and Memoji.
Photos now supports suggestions through a “For You” section and will make sharing recommendations.
Notifications are now grouped and have a “manage” tab, to turn off notifications for that app or to deliver them quietly.
Do Not Disturb
Do Not Disturb now has a feature called “Do Not Disturb During Bedtime” to automatically send notification to history, send calls to voicemail (can be changed to Favourites/Repeated calls) and has a darker screen to assist sleep.Apple is fine-tuning the Do Not Disturb experience, adding Do Not Disturb at Bedtime, which offers a minimal notifications experience that won’t disturb you at night, and will only gently nudge you in the morning. You can also now automate Do Not Disturb based on events or locations.
Voice Memos & Stocks
The Voice Memos and Stocks apps are now on iPads. Voice Memos and Stocks have had a design refresh, and the latter has integrated Apple News.
iBooks was renamed to Apple Books, and the app was refreshed, with a Discover Tab, Book Store, and more.

Apple is putting a lot of emphasis on performance in iOS 12, particularly on older devices, increasing performance on those iPhones and iPads by as much as 40%. You can also expect faster app launches as well as a faster keyboard and more on devices going all the way back to the iPhone 5s.
